Untitled
by Sam Miezlish

she is velvet and broken china

fishhooks

grasping at lace

just to scar

.

he is searching

for a place

to bleed openly and

stain the earth

.

coyotes at dawn

thirsting for flesh

he doesn’t howl

he refuses

.

they watch as the earth

gently tugs the moon

and wait for sleep
